2-year-old boy booked for theft in Uttar Pradesh

On the basis of complaint filed by victim and other villagers, a case was registered against four including the boy.

An FIR has been lodged against a two-year-old boy with three others in a theft case by Sadarpur police of the district. The matter came to light yesterday when father of the boy, took him to district court to surrender. Later name of the boy was removed from the FIR following intervention by the Superintendent of Police, a police spokesperson said. A theft occurred in Bajehra village in Sadarpur area on September 20. 

On the basis of complaint filed by victim and other villagers, a case was registered against four including the boy, he said. After police allegedly had gone to arrest the boy, his father took him to surrender in district court from where with help of some lawyers he approached the SP office and narrated the incident to him. 

Additional SP, Subhash Gangwar said the FIR was lodged on the basis of the complaint and the boy is a family member of one of the accused. During investigation the boy's name was removed, the ASP said.
