A two-dimensional facial reconstruction (digital superimposition) on the skull recovered from the forest of Pen in Raigad matched with that of Sheena Bora, sources in Mumbai police told dna on Friday. Investigative agencies consider this a strong evidence in establishing the identity of a deceased. A similar process was done in sensational Karan Kakkar murder case in 2012. Superimposition also helps ascertain sex of the deceased and probable time when the person was killed.

According to police sources, the superimposition was conducted at Nair Hospital using a digital software. "It's done on the basis of teeth, skull and cheek bones. The results have come positive. It revealed that the deceased was a woman aged between 22 and 25, and around 153 to 160 centimetres in height. The probable time of death is between two to five years back. Though DNA results will ascertain these details, superimposition is equally important an evidence," said a police officer, requesting anonymity.

"Probe also revealed that after Sheena's death, in May 2012, an employee of Indrani had created a hotmail account of Sheena on her behest and from that account, Indrani while being in the United Kingdom had sent emails to Mikhail, Peter and Vidhie, impersonating as Sheena. She wanted to fox others into believing that Sheena is leading a happy life in the United States and do not wish to come back. These mails continued till last year. Our cyber-crime wing has traced the internet protocol address of these emails to UK," the officer said.

The police sources further stated that the car used in the crime has been recovered from Vashi from its third owner and that while ferrying Sheena's body to Raigad, Indrani had applied make-up on Sheena's face and placed the body between herself and ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna to avoid suspicion.

Meanwhile, television honco Peter Mukerjea was on Friday quizzed for the third consecutive day in connection with the case. For the first time, Vidhie, biological daughter of Indrani and her ex-husband and partner-in-crime Sanjeev Khanna, too visited Khar police station. Besides, Sheena's biological father Siddhartha Das too was summoned.

While Peter reached the police station at around 11:20 am to record his statement, Vidhie arrived about 30 minutes later, and Das reached around 12.30 pm.

Das was quizzed on Thursday by the police on various angles and his statement was recorded. He was at the Khar police station from 8 pm till 3 am on Friday.

The police custody of Indrani, Khanna and driver Shyamvar Rai will end on Saturday.
