At least 15 passengers received severe injuries after two BRTS buses collided with each other near Bhavsar hostel in Naranpura. According to eye witnesses, the head-on collision left the drivers of both the buses critically injured.

On Tuesday night at around 9:15pm, two BRTS buses, one coming from Akhbarnagar and another coming from RTO, rammed into each other on the BRTS track near Bhavsar hostel. Eyewitnesses say that both the buses were at a very high speed. Due to the collision, the front portion of the buses was damaged badly and the side panels were peeled off.

It is also learned that the drivers received maximum injuries, particularly on their legs. At least 15 passengers were also injured, 10 among them seriously hurt. The injured were immediately rushed to civil hospital in 108 ambulances.
After the accident, locals and commuters gathered on the spot and caused heavy traffic jam. Naranpura police also rushed to the spot and tried to manage the traffic. Since the buses run on CNG, fire brigade also rushed to the spot to prevent any mishap in case of gas leakage.
