Delhi BJP's Sikh leaders today met Home Minister Rajnath Singh and demanded a fresh probe against Congress leader Jagdish Tytler in connection with the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.

The meeting came after a video surfaced recently purportedly showing Tytler speaking about his alleged role in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.

The BJP delegation, which included party national secretary RP Singh, submitted a memorandum to Singh, seeking a probe against Tytler based on the video released by Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee president Manjit Singh GK.

A memorandum was submitted to the home minister by the delegation demanding an "immediate, fresh SIT inquiry and prosection" against Tytler on the basis of the video, a Delhi BJP statement read.

Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari also met the home minister in this regard.

Manjit Singh had in a presser on Monday released the video, apparently of a 2011 sting operation, purportedly showing Tytler in conversation with a few people.

He had claimed receiving the video from an unidentified sender on February 3.

Tytler yesterday filed a police complaint against Manjit Singh charging that he had circulated the "doctored" video to tarnish his image.

A complaint has also been filed against Tytler by RP Singh on the basis of the video.
