Dilip Ghosh, president of West Bengal unit of the BJP, said that state leaders should not worry about whether the BJP would be voted back to power in the Centre in 2019 and should concentrate on how many seats the party can win from Bengal.

"The 2019 Lok Sabha elections will be a semifinal before the final on 2021 Assembly votes. Don't think about whether BJP will win in the next election and whether Narendra Modi will come back as the PM. It is for sure that he will. We need to calculate how many more seats the party will get and what will be our contribution from Bengal," Ghosh said.

He also said, "We have began with two seats, 40 remains. After elections we should be able to tell the Centre that we have given 25 seats, so such and such work needs to be done in Bengal and also demand the PM to come to Bengal."

He said there would be atrocities and adverse conditions which the ruling TMC would create in the state and that the BJP workers would have to fight against those and win. "No one is safe in Bengal. People are looking for a change. They need an alternative. They are looking at BJP which they believe can be the alternative," he added.

Sources present at the meeting said that a lot of impetus had been put on the proposed Rath Yatra in Dec-Jan. "A booth level participation in the yatra has been asked to ensure. The yatra will touch all assembly constituencies of the state and it will be monitored minutely by Delhi. It will be a major reach out programme ahead of the polls," a senior BJP leader present at the meeting said.

He also said that a 'palak' or in-charge of every Lok Sabha constituency has been fixed and along with election committees, there will also be a an election logistics committee at every Lok Sabha constituency.

"The micro management has to be done with the precision of a surgeon. The person in charge will have information ready at his fingertips as to which are the possible venues of meetings in his area and if a national leader such as Narendra Modi or Amit Shah comes to the venue, where would the helipad be and how easily the other paraphernalia be arranged. Then the committee members should know where election materials such as flags, posters, hoardings would be stored safely and which are the walls that would be available for campaigns for BJP," he said.

Asked about which seats they were hopeful about he said indications showed that North Bengal, Jungle Mahal and Nadia were in favour of BJP.
