The Haryana government has initiated a process to provide employment opportunities to about 1.50 lakh youth through investments in the state and the work is underway to implement 160 of the 550 MoUs signed with various companies, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said today.

"A new industrial era has dawned in the state as a result of the consistent efforts by the government," he said.

Khattar was speaking after laying the foundation stone of Panasonic Refrigerator Plant at Panasonic Technopark in Dadri Toy village in Jhajjar district.

The Chief Minister said to ensure ease of doing business in the state, the entrepreneurs would get all kinds of clearances within 45 days.

"Entrepreneurs in Haryana who provide jobs to unemployed youth will now get an allowance from the government," he said.

"As per the officials of the Panasonic India, the company would give priority to local persons in 70 per cent of the jobs," Khattar said.

Khattar said the government is setting up the Skill Development University in Palwal district to provide vocational training to the youth to make them employable in the private sector.

Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Minister O P Dhankar said the present dispensation is working for the welfare of the people in the state.

He said the new manufacturing unit would provide employment opportunities to 1,000 youth, including 700 from the surrounding areas.
