10 killed in mishap while returning from Navratri function in Indore

Ten persons, including two minors, were today killed and 15 injured when a vehicle ferrying people from a Navratri function collided with a truck on Indore-Icchapur Highway here in the wee hours.

Eight men and two boys were killed in the accident which occurred at around 3.45 AM near Chhaigaon Makhan town, about 15 kms from Khandwa.

A wheat-laden truck that was on its way to Hyderabad from Ujjain collided with the pickup truck which was ferrying the victims back home after they had taken part in 'garba' during the ongoing Navratri festival, Khandwa Superintendent of Police Manoj Sharma said.

The victims belonged to Khargone district's Kedala Jagir village.

The injured were referred to Khandwa district hospital, the police officer added.
