Teacher, scientist, genius, author, musician, long-hair enthusiast -- there are many different hats that Dr APJ Abdul Kalam wore in his lifetime. In many ways, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam was an embodiment of the Indian Deam. 

A poor Muslim boy, he didn't let his surrounding or environment affect his education and drive. His interest in flying led to him studying aeronautical engineering, and he would eventually go on to supervise the development of India's guided missile program.
