A preliminary enquiry has been registered against “unknown persons” to check if the "first-come-first-serve basis" provision passed by the then cabinet led by Atal Bihari Vajpayee was followed. Puneites took out candle light processions and peace marches to pay homage to the victims of the German Bakery bomb blast that left 17 people, including four foreigners, dead and over 50 injured on February 13, 2010. Himayat Baig, the alleged mastermind behind the blast, was nabbed nearly six months after the blast by the Maharashtra Police Anti-Terrorist Squad. Baig hails from Latur, where he ran a cyber cafe and had links with Indian Mujaheedin and Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba.
