Eid-ul-Fitr marks the end of Islamic holy month of Ramadan. Believers of Islam all around the world observe fast during this month from dawn to sunset, which consists of  of 29-30 days.

During, this period, the evening meal Iftaar marks the end of their fast in post sunset. While the morning, Suhur is the last meal that Muslims have before dawn, as they begin their fast.

Eid falls on the first day of the Muslim month of Shawwal.

Before offering their Eid prayers, Muslims pay Zakat (alms) and then often gather at their mosques to complete Salat al-Eid prayers, to have their daytime breakfast after a month long fast.

While India is set to celebrate the festival on July 7, many countries in the world celebrated it on July 6.
