Campaigning for the first phase Bihar Assembly Election came to an end today (October 26). Each party had its own achievements to showcase in the rallies held across several constituencies. But what has caught the attention of the people of Bihar is allegations and counter-allegations by political parties against each other.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday (October 26) hit out at his political adversaries and said, "crime has reduced in Bihar as the state is now ranked 23, according to govt data. We're interested only in work, not in self-promotion."

"Those who don't have any knowledge or experience, are speaking against me at the behest of their advisors. We're not interested in campaign, we're concerned about nepotism. We consider entire Bihar as one family but for few, only blood relatives are their family," Nitish Kumar added.

On the other hand, Lok Janshakti Party president Chirag Paswan during a rally in Bihar claimed he will put Chief Minister Nitish Kumar behind bars once his government comes to power.

"I said that if they are guilty, they will be sent to jail after an investigation. How can it be possible that the Chief Minister doesn't know about large scale scams and corruption? He's involved too. If not, it will be clear in a probe. But people and I believe that he is involved, that he is corrupt, and any corrupt person belongs in jail" said the LJP Chief.

On Sunday, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav had said that Nitish Kumar has lost his sheen and is not the right person to rule Bihar. And the people 'hate' him.

"The crowd at our rallies show that people are not just angry with Nitish Kumar but they hate him now, this is the level of their angst," he said.

Tejashwi Yadav also took a dig at the Centre for rising onion prices. He was seen holding up a garland of onions in Patna today.

"Inflation is the biggest issue. BJP people used to wear a garland of onions. Now it is about to touch Rs 100/kg. Those who were speaking about onions when it touched Rs 50-60/kg are silent when it has crossed Rs 80/kg. Starvation and poverty are on the rise in the state," Yadav said while speaking to the media.

The first phase of election in Bihar is on October 28. In this phase, 71 constituencies will go to the polls. The second phase of polling is on November 3, while the third phase of election will take place on November 7. Counting of the votes will take place on November 10.
