Cyclone 'Nivar' weakened after hitting the coast near Puducherry in the early hours of Thursday. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), with the coast hitting the coast at around 2.30 tonight, its speed has reduced from 100 to 110 km per hour against 120 km per hour earlier.

Meanwhile, a senior scientist in the Indian Meteorological Department, RK Genmani, said that another low-pressure area is forming in the Bay of Bengal, likely to turn into a cyclone soon. This cyclone has been named Burwee by the Maldives. However, monitoring continues on this cyclone and may come into effect in early December.

At the same time, there is no news of the loss of life and property due to the Prevent cyclone. However, trees were uprooted in many places. Tamil Nadu Revenue Minister R.B. According to IMD, it will continue to move northwest and further weakened by cyclonic storms over the next six hours.

Villupuram MP D. Ravikumar wrote that a woman has died in Marakkanam due to the cyclone on his Twitter page. The damage caused by the cyclone is not yet known. The Tamil Nadu government on Thursday extended the public holiday to 16 districts. Several areas of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry are receiving heavy rains. Due to this, the bus service has been stopped. Apart from this, the metro service in Chennai has also been stopped till further orders.
