The Supreme Court has asked the governments of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka to revisit their laws providing for 69% and 73% reservation, respectively, in the wake of petitions questioning the legitimacy of such acts.
With the rest of the states in the Indian Union abiding by the 50% ceiling set by the Supreme Court in the Indra Sawhney (Mandal) case for reservations in education and employment, is it time Karnataka and Tamil Nadu fell in line as well?
