Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday had a busy schedule in Mumbai where he laid the foundation stone for the Navi Mumbai international airport and the Fourth Container Terminal at JNPT. After that, PM Modi went to BKC to attend the Magnetic Maharashtra summit attended by several members of India Inc, as well as global CEOs such as Richard Branson. He concluded his day by inaugurating the Wadhwani Institute of Artificial Intelligence
With the arrival of Artificial Intelligence, Bots and Robots, there is no doubt that our productivity will further go up. But, there are also rising fears of human redundancy because there is a competition between the mind and the machine, the PM said during his speech at the Wadhwani Institute.
Earlier, PM Modi also spoke of the importance Maharashtra played in India's overall development. "51% of FDI comes from Maharashtra," the PM said.
Earlier, Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation stone for the 16,700 Navi Mumbai airport and the JNPT Container Terminal on Sunday.
While addressing the crowd, PM Modi spoke on the importance of development and how his government had played a role in focusing on files that had on paper spoken on big projects, without any execution. He cited the airport and the terminal as prime examples of pending projects across the country.
With the PM laying the foundation stone, the Navi Mumbai International Airport, being built by the state-run Cidco and the GVK Group which also runs the Mumbai international airport, is all set to take off at a humongous cost of over Rs 16,700 crore.
Planned in 1997 as a secondary airport to meet the growing needs of Mumbai at an investment of Rs 3,000 crore, the project was inordinately delayed due to a myriad of factors, including political indecision, issues of environmental clearances and the funding.

In a packed schedule during his visit, Modi will also inaugurate the new container terminal at the Jawaharlal Nehru Port. The Prime Minister will also deliver the inaugural address at the Global Investors' Summit - Magnetic Maharashtra: Convergence 2018".
At the Magnetic Maharashtra summit, expected to be attended by 150 global CEOs, Indian business tycoons and ambassadors and consul generals, the state government hopes to sign a record 4,500 Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) and investment intentions worth Rs 10 lakh crore.
Modi will inaugurate the Wadhwani Institute for Artificial Intelligence at the University of Mumbai.
