Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah on Monday hit out at Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi for defending dynastic politics during his inaugural address at the BJP National Executive Meeting.
"President, Vice President, Prime Minister reached their position due to performance," said Shah taking a dig at Gandhi.
Shah also said that the BJP believes in politics of performance and Congress in dynasty and politics of appeasement. "Politics of appeasement will not be acceptable," he said.
"BJP will keep expanding its base for the next five years under vistarak scheme. 4862 party functionaries are engaged day and night for this work," Shah said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to dispel concerns over the state of the economy and lay down his government's economic and political agenda.
Presence of the party's all elected lawmakers, including close to 1,400 MLAs, 337 MPs and all MLCs besides its core group leaders from states among others is a key highlight of the meeting.
More than 2,000 delegates are attending the meet.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi may also focus on the economy issue with the opposition parties attacking government's handling of the economy by citing the fall in GDP rate and demonetisation figures, expected to take them on and highlight his dispensation's 'successes' in boosting transparency and curbing black money, party sources said.
The prime minister's agenda of development will also be a key feature.
