PM Narendra Modi arrives at World Sustainable Development Summit 2018

The initiative was started in 2001. Former prime minister Atal Bihar Vajpaaye, former president Pranab Mukherjee, ex-UN Secretary General Kofi Annan and Seychelles President Danny Faure have attended the Summit in the past.

The theme for World Sustainable Development Summit 2018 is 'Partnerships for a Resilient Planet'.

WSDS 2018 shall focus on key issues like land degradation, waste management, measures to deal with air pollution, facilitate a transition to clean energy and create financial mechanisms to enable effective climate change mitigation. 

World Sustainable Development Summit is a platform for global business leaders to deliberate on issues related to sustainable development and climate changes.
