Delhi University is all geared up to host the students’ union elections on Wednesday. Over 1.4 lakh students will cast their franchise to choose their representatives for four key posts – president, vice president, secretary and joint secretary.
Campaigning for the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) elections ended on Monday night after a hectic two weeks of high-pitched canvassing.
Polling at North and South campuses will is scheduled to start at 8.30 in the morning and continue till 7.30 pm.
Students from 53 colleges will cast their ballot in two sessions – 8.30 am to 1 pm for morning students, and 3 pm to 7.30 pm for evening students. As many as 760 electronic voting machines will be used. Last year’s voter turnout was 42.8%.

Counting of votes and announcement of the result will be on September 13. Counting will begin at 8:30 am in the Community Hall, Kingsway Camp.
Earlier, Chief Election Commissioner for DUSU polls, V K Kaul, released the final list of candidates contesting the four panel seats. Twenty-three candidates are in the fray this time, of which five are standing for the post of President.
