Protestors resist detention as they lie under a bus to stop it from moving.
The tyres of the bus have been deflated and the windows shattered as the protestors resist.
Police had earlier asked youngsters protesting against the gang-rape of a paramedical student to stage demonstrations either at Jantar Mantar or Ramlila Maidan.
Anticipating more protests on the gang-rape of a young girl, seven Delhi Metro stations near Raisina Hill and India Gate were closed for public.
Last night it was decided to close four stations -- Patel Chowk, Central Secretariat, Udyog Bhawan and Race Course -- but this morning it was extended to three more -- Barakhamba, Mandi House and Khan Market.
"Protestors may go to Ramlila Maidan or Jantar Mantar. Traffic has been diverted from Vijay Chowk and Rajpath," a Delhi Police statement said.
It said prohibitory orders under section 144 of CrPC have been issued in New Delhi area except Jantar Mantar.
All routes to Rashtrapati Bhavan have been barricaded.

Protesters assembled near India Gate and were asked to vacate the location by the police which said the area was under Section 144 of CrPC which bans the assembly of four or more persons.

Though the commuters were less in the morning it being Sunday, the few who chose to take the Metro to reach these destinations were put to hardship as they unaware of the announcement made late last night by DMRC.
Several people, who were headed to Connaught Place from south Delhi, had to take longer routes as the police did not allow traffic on Rajpath.
Apart from some minor scuffles and arguments, overall police practiced restrained. Police personnel were seen requesting the protesters to either go to Ramlila Maidan or Jantar Mantar to protest.
Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Sunday morning met the students protesting outside her 10, Janpath house demanding justice for the 23-year-old gang-rape victim and death penalty for rapists.
This was the second time the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) chairperson met the protesters, some of whom had been camping outside her house in the chilly winter weather.
Gandhi came out of her residence past midnight and assured them that "justice will be delivered".
According to one of the protesters, the Congress president spent about 20 minutes with the group of 40-50 students and assured them that she was "with them".
She also promised that she would meet them again in the morning. After her assurance, the group then dispersed.
On Sunday morning, according to some students, she met a few women protesters and assured them her support. She said the UPA government was "serious" about the case.
The health of the 23-year-old Delhi gang-rape victim worsened on Sunday morning.
Doctors at the Safdarjung Hospital where the vicitm is admitted said she was facing respiratory problems.
The doctors added that they may have to put the victim back on ventilator.

Aam Aadmi Party's Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia sat on a dharna near Hyderabad House on Ashoka Road, close to India Gate.
"The people's anger is understandable. The government inaction, apathy and arrogance are intolerable. But I would appeal all not to indulge in violence. Section 144 (prohibitory orders) in whole of New Delhi is unprecedented. The government is scared of people. The government is at war with the people. How can the government prevent unarmed people from peacefully protesting? Section 144 must be defied to save democracy," Kejriwal said.
Kejriwal also demanded that a special session of Parliament be convened to enact a strong law against rapists and setting up of fast track courts.
Protests also took place near Safdurjung hospital, where the victim is admitted.
Sonia Gandhi assured protestors that the gang-rape case will be fast-tracked.

The large-scale protests in India over the gang rape of a girl in a moving bus has attracted the attention of American media which blamed it on poor law and order and a lacklustre criminal justice system.

A constable is battling for life in a government hospital after he was critically injured in violence at India Gate where people were protesting the gangrape of a young girl in a moving bus here.

Minister of state said that the government has accepted all the demands of the protesters. The commissioner of police regretted lathi-charge on protesters demonstrating against rape of 23-year-old para-medical student in Delhi. Neeraj Kumar said he was not quitting over the issue of rape.
"We have met all the demands of the protesters. A committee has been constituted under retired Supreme Court judge. Gyan Krishnan, a senior lawyer, has volunteered to take up the case for the prosecution," said Dharmendra Kumar, Special Commissioner of Police (Law and Order).
A Delhi Police Constable was tonight battling for life after he was severely beaten up near India Gate by protesters who had gathered to demand security for women in the capital in the wake of last week's gang-rape incident.
On a day hooligans took over and violence erupted in India Gate in which 78 policemen and 65 protesters were injured, police fired 250 teargas shells, repeatedly used water jets and resorted to baton charge.
Among the 78 policemen injured were Joint Commissioner (Central) Taj Hasan, Additional Commissioner (New Delhi) K C Dwivedi, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer) B S Jaiswal and Additional Deputy Commissioner (New Delhi) Sanjay Tyagi.

In a late night clampdown, police tonight cleared protesters staging a candlelight vigil at India Gate.
Around 150-200 protesters were at the war memorial at around 10.20 pm when policemen in riot gear arrived at the scene and asked them to vacate the spot.
When the protesters refused, they were physically lifted out of the area.
The protesters then carried out a march near India Gate.
