We have to do focussed activity to change lives of Muslims; they cannot be left behind in development: Prime Minister Narendra Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke in the Parliament on the President's motion of thanks:

* We are the guardians of people's aspirations now, we have to fulfill these aspirations: Modi

* It is good that all criticism coming our way so far has been constructive. I welcome constructive criticism, it will help us perform the best.

* Modi takes a dig at Congress' comment about Kauravas and Pandavas, says everyone wants Pandavas to win

* It will be difficult to fulfill all promises within the set time frame but we will try our level best. I will take the guidance of experienced heads in Parliament to achieve the same

* At the 75th anniversary of Independence in 2022, there should be no family in India without a roof over their heads. We should provide housing to all with all necessary facilities.

* Modi to Opposition: I don't want to move forward without you, I don't want to move ahead on basis of numbers but on the basis of collectivity.

* Govt has to take strong action against incidents of violence against women like the recent one in UP, says PM.

* There has been very little change in society even though several government schemes in place

* We have to make sure the government schemes are targeted towards those who need them

* We have to do focussed activity to change lives of Muslims; they cannot be left behind in development: Modi

* We have to make women partners in our march towards development, we need to respect them and ensure their safety

* There may not be good teachers or school in the villages but technology enables us to teach children in villages through satellite.

* We don't believe in big brother attitude towards states; We believe in Cooperative Federalism: Modi

* There should be competition among states for development; I want to hear states saying they have left Gujarat behind: Modi.

* We are sincerely committed to bring down prices; it is our collective responsibility to ensure nobody sleeps hungry: PM

* India needs to proceed towards skill development: Modi

* Lok Sabha has high parliamentary standards, says Modi

* Modi says he is new to Parliament and to forgive him if he has made any mistakes

* Modi promises to uphold the agenda of the new government which was presented by the President
