Uproar in Lok Sabha over Israeli attack in Gaza Strip
Uproar was witnessed today in the Lok Sabha as several parties got together to demand a resolution to condemn Israeli raids in Gaza Strip but the government did not oblige. Members of Congress, Trinamool Congress and PDP staged a walkout after the government said it has no intention of bringing a resolution to condemn Israeli raids as any action by the government "should not have any implications". Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday slammed journalist Ved Pratap Vaidik over his meeting with mastermind of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack Hafiz Saeed. Describing journalist Ved Pratap Vaidik as a "RSS man", Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday questioned whether the Indian High Commission in Islamabad had facilitated the meeting between him and Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed. Read more

Parliamentary Affairs Minister M Venkaiah Naidu alleged that Congress was trying to "divert" the attention of the people and the entire episode was part of the "disinformation campaign against this government and BJP". "I feel that the Congress party is trying to make an issue of one of the journalists meeting with Hafiz Saeed, the mastermind of the terrorist attack. That's a private affair. "The government has nothing to do. He has been neither authorised nor representing the government or the party. We have nothing to do with that meeting. It's a free country, people are going to different places," Naidu told reporters here. Read more

Even as Rajya Sabha was adjourned following uproar over the Vaidk issue, Lok Sabha too faced ruckus by members on the same subect. Memebers created uproar in Rajya Sabha over reported meeting of a journalist considered close to yoga guru Ramdev with 26/11 mastermind Hafiz Saeed. Rajya Sabha adjourned for 15 minutes after uproar.

For the second consecutive day, the reported meeting of a journalist considered close to RSS with 26/11 mastermind Hafiz Saeed disrupted proceedings in Rajya Sabha today, leading to two adjournments during Question Hour. Opposition Congress was joined by members of SP and BSP in raising the issue of the journalist meeting with India's most wanted terrorist earlier this month. Read more
 
Yesterday, as well, the Upper House was disrupted on various occassions over the journalist meeting 26/11 mastermind Hafiz SaeedDigvijay Singh from Congress raised the issue when the House met for the day seeking to know from Leader of the House and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley if the meeting had government's sanction.
