Members in the Lok Sabha expressed outrage over the Shiv Sena MPs act of forcing a Muslim catering supervisor to break his Ramzan fast and the humiliation suffered by two Sikh players in the just concluded 5th Fiba Asia Cup in China where the organisers did not allow them to wear the turbans while playing. Raising the issue during Zero Hour, Prem Singh Chandumajra (SAD) said efforts should be made to prevent recurrence of such incidents.
Opposition attacked the government over rising inflation and said its failure to pursue reforms aggressively through the maiden budget would make India vulnerable to changes in global economy. It also faulted the government for not going in for big bang measures in the first budget of the NDA government to address the stagflation.

Force-feeding row: Government says it will respond by tomorrow
The government said it will respond on the issue of Shiv Sena MPs force-feeding a fasting Muslim after ascertaining full facts by tomorrow. Congress, SP and Left members raised the issue when Rajya Sabha met for the day saying 24 hours have passed since the issue was first raised but the government is yet to come back.
