Lok Sabha Elections 2014: Enthusiastic turnout in the fifth phase with over 71% polling in Manipur, 65% in Karnataka and West Bengal at 80%

The nine-phase Lok Sabha elections started on Monday, as India will vote to select its next government and a new Prime Minister.

* Lok Sabha Elections 2014: First phase of polls begins amid tight security

* Polling begins for Lok Sabha polls in Tripura. Around 1.2 million voters are eligible to vote in the Tripura West constituency. Polling for the Tripura East seat will be held April 12. The 13 candidates in Monday's fray include a woman, Joganati Datta, an independent candidate.
