In her speech, Congress President Sonia Gandhi challenged the graft charges against the government and said that those who lecture on corruption are neck-deep in corruption (themselves).
Gandhi said," We will fight the graft charges against us and anyone found guilty of corruption will not be spared."
She also accused the opposition for weakening the democratic institutions.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, while addressing the huge Congress rally at Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi, defended the recent fuel price hike, stating that his government was compelled to do so to tackle fiscal deficit.
Also present at the rally was Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi who promised to get Parliament's nod for the UPA government's Lokpal Bill in the coming months, even as he attacked the Opposition for stalling the anti-corruption legislation.
While addressing the crowd PM Manmohan Singh said that people are trying to spread misinformation about certain policy decisions taken by the government.
