A police inspector, who allegedly misbehaved with a legislator on the Worli-Bandra Sea Link in Mumbai, would be sent on 'compulsory leave', Maharashtra Home Minister RR Patil said in Mumbai on Monday.
An inquiry has also been ordered against inspector Sachin Suryavanshi, the minister said, after the issue was raised in the Legislative Council.
Shiv Sena MLC Diwakar Raote said that this officer had misbehaved with his son on two occasions. To which, Minister of State for Home Satej Patil said, "Why do police misbehave only with your son?"
But Deputy Chairman of Council Vasant Davkhare said there was another incident on the Sea Link, where Suryavanshi behaved rudely with a legislator, and its recording was available on a CD.
The House was then adjourned to enable the legislators to watch the CD, following which RR Patil announced action against the police officer.
