Explaning the day-to-day problems faced by the lawyers in the country, the team of upcoming film Jolly LLB met the Law Minister Ashwani Kumar and submitted a three point memorandum.
Bollywood actors Arshad Warsi and Boman Irani, who play lawyers in the film, met the minister along with director Subhash Kapoor.
“It was a good opportunity for me to meet the Law Minister and tell him the problems of the lawyers. I met many young lawyers and they have told me that they should receive a minimum payment, I believe they are not being paid properly. So, I would request the minister to increase their wages,” he said.
“Secondly I think the condition of courtrooms should improve. They should be given separate chambers at least so as to give them a good working environment. And last but not the least is that why don’t they get loan or credit cards? So these are the three things I will be asking the minister and if we get a solution of these problems, I will be really happy,” the 44-year-old actor added.
“I am deeply indebted to the distinguish actors of our country who have actually done a great service to the cause we have been wanting to solve namely bring out, upfront the problems young lawyers face,” Kumar said.
“I think it’s a very noble endeavor. And I can assure my friends that I will do my best as a Law Minister, whatever it is in our power to do, so that we can groom the younger lawyers to become important actors of the legal fraternity the society,” Kumar added.
The film, which is a social satire on the judicial system of the country, will hit the theatres on March 15.
