Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde Monday said the alleged suicide in the Tihar Jail by the main accused in the Delhi gang-rape was a "major lapse".

"I agree... It must be a major lapse... It is a gave incident, it is not a

small incident," Shinde told reporters.

But the minister said he won't come to any conclusion till a magisterial

probe ordered into the suicide gets over.

"I can't come to a conclusion now... Let us wait... The details would come (out) in the magisterial inquiry," said Shinde.

Ram Singh, 35, believed to be the mastermind of the Dec 16 gang-rape, reportedly committed suicide in the Tihar Jail here Monday morning, police said. His family alleged he was murdered.
