A youth allegedly raped a minor girl in Qundesra village in the district, police said today.
Additional Superintendent of Police Sadhna Goswami told PTI, "The accused took the girl to an adjacent field yesterday and violated her".
"The culprit has been nabbed," he said.
The District Magistrate, Superintendent of Police and other senior officials rushed to the scene of crime and assured the relatives of stringent action.
The incident triggered fears of communal disturbance as the accused and the victim belong to different communities.
