Activists of Shiv Sena on Thursday blocked traffic on the national highway in Phagwara to protest the killing of two Indian soldiers by the Pakistani Army.
While addressing the protesters, Sena's state Vice-President Inderjit Karwal demanded that the Indian government give a "befitting reply to Pakistan government for its barbaric act."
They also burnt an effigy of the Pakistan government.
He alleged that the methods of the Indian government had "emboldened Pakistan and its army."
The protest march was taken out from Hanumangarhi Mandir and converged on the highway near sugar mill crossing, blocking traffic for some time.
The demonstrators also observed two minutes silence to pay tribute to the soldiers.
