There seems to be no end to revelations in Dr Bharat Atit’s case as DCB connects more missing links which are not just shocking but also hard to digest. Cops believe that a major human trafficking racket could be busted in the coming days.

Atit, husband of former BJP mayor Malini Atit, had sold the infant of Mona Thakor to a Rajkot-based couple. Official sources have confirmed that DCB officials have gone to Nadiad to interrogate Thakor and her lover Rajkumar to find out if they were aware of any human trafficking racket allegedly being carried by Atit.

Meanwhile, accused nurse Neeru Rathe and the attendant at the medical store, who had helped Dr Atit in making fake surrogacy papers, were again interrogated by the police on Thursday. DCB sources have further revealed that besides practising gynaecology at his own hospital, Dr Atit was also practicing at Sharadaben hospital in Saraspur. It is also learned that he would persuade women not to abort their child but instead give them to him after delivery. He would then sell them in other cities using fake documents. He would admit the women in Sharadaben hospital for the delivery and even pay the expenses.
