The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), on Sunday, slammed senior Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar for equating Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi with India’s most wanted criminal Dawood Ibrahim.
Gujarat BJP’s spokesperson IK Jadeja said that the people of Gujarat will give a fitting reply to Aiyar’s comment on December 20.
“The man who dared to host a tri-colour at Lal Chowk in Srinanagar and who has fought terrorism is now being compared with Dawood Ibrahim. The people of the state will give Congress a fitting reply in the upcoming elections,” said Jadeja.
He also said that GPCC president Arjun Modhwadia would be taught a fitting lesson by people of Porbandar. “Let him contest elections from there. People will punish him for maligning the CM,” said Jadeja.
BJP media-in-charge, Jagdish Bhavsar announced that party will celebrate a ‘New Year Sammelan’ in each of the 182 assembly constituencies of state.
The sammelan that will be held from November 14 to 18 will bring together party workers at booth and village level for the assembly polls. The sammelan will see leaders talking on the issue of corruption, inflation and Centre’s injustice to the state.
The party will also hold a ‘know your voter’ programme from November 14 to 24 at nagarpalika level. The programme will help party connect with new voters, particularly in big cities and nagarpalikas. Meanwhile, youth BJP workers will also take out a Vikas Rath across the city to inform people of the developments during BJP rule. Another Vijay Vishwas Yuva Sammelan has also been planned across the state.
