DMK not against Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant: Karunanidhi

The 88-year-old former chief minister said, "we are not against developmental projects like Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant. We are in favour of industrial growth in a scientific manner".

DMK President M Karunanidhi today clarified that his party was not against the controversial Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project, saying "DMK always supports industrial growth in a scientific manner."

Speaking to reporters here, the 88-year-old former chief minister said, "we are not against developmental projects like Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant. We are in favour of industrial growth in a scientific manner".

He was replying to a question on Union minister V Narayanasamy's reported observation that DMK initially supported the Kudankulam power project, but later backed out.
