Real estate developers in the city have finally budged to the demands of customers, this festive season. Earlier, during the boom period, customers’ demands for bargains had fallen on deaf ears, whereas now, the developers are ready to negotiate by not only offering cash discounts in price, but also giving buyers time to think before taking a final call on buying property.
In addition, customers can avail of attractive offers such as ‘buy one get one’ schemes, cars, bikes and even old coins on making a purchase in plotted development schemes. Realty consultants consider this a good time for genuine buyers walk away with a great deal.
Although the realty market in Ahmedabad is doing better than many other cities in the country, demand has remained sluggish even here due to the condition of the economy and a higher inflation rate. This has prompted realty developers to be open to negotiations.
“The major developers do not offer freebies, and instead provide cash discounts. Depending on a customer’s bargaining skills, the discount can be as high as 15%,” said a leading realty consultant from city, on condition of anonymity.
The consultant also said that customers can get avail a much better price if they are ready to release full payment in advance. Moreover, developers are also offering relaxed payment terms, but at the cost of discounts, he added. In plotted schemes, developers are even offering freebies to customers. One of the developers in this segment has announced giving away a plot for free to anyone buying a plot.
