A Kingfisher flight from Mumbai today landed in a taxi track which was closed for repair work at the Chaudhary Charan Singh Amausi airport in Lucknow creating confusion among passengers.
"The Mumbai-Lucknow flight entered a wrong taxi track delta after landing which was closed for repair work. This has already been notified and a signage placed there," director (airport) Atul Dixit told PTI.
When the pilot realised his mistake, he stopped the aircraft and all the passengers disembarked, he said.
"There was nothing to panic as the aircraft was moving at a slow pace towards the taxi track. All passengers are safe and nobody has been injured," Dixit said.
The plane was later towed back to the right taxi track, he said.
"We have six taxi tracks at the airport of which two have been closed for maintenance and this has been notified," he said.
Dixit said the matter had been reported to the directorate-general of civil aviation.
