Some HBO Max subscribers got an early surprise as, on Monday, as users attempted to play Tom & Jerry, the new CGI/live-action hybrid film from director Tim Story, Zack Snyder's cut of Justice League played instead. The anticipated four-hour film from Zack Snyder is officially set to release on March 18.

After the blunder and fans sharing photos and videos of the same on Instagram and Twitter, the streaming service said in a statement, "Zack Snyder’s Justice League was temporarily available on HBO Max and the error was addressed within minutes," The Hollywood Reporter said.

According to reports, the error first came to light when a man named, Doug Bass noted it on Twitter and shared his surprise at getting to see one whole hour of film before it was taken down. To prevent spoilers from getting out, Twitter users who shared screenshots of Justice League were also sent Twitter takedown notices on behalf of Warner Bros.

Simmons as Commissioner Gordon, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Joe Manganiello as Deathstroke, Jared Leto as The Joker, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Ciarán Hinds as Steppenwolf, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, and Ray Porter as Darkseid.

Snyder's Cut was confirmed last year after a long campaign by the director's fans, who decried the theatrical version released in 2017. Snyder had to leave the original film due to a family tragedy. Joss Whedon was then brought in by Warner Bros to finish the post-production and do reshoots of a few scenes.
