Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke surprised fans when he played the alternative James Bond theme "Spectre" live, which never made it to the soundtrack of the 007 movie.

The 49-year-old singer-composer regaled the audience at the Fabrique in Milan this week when he played the only-piano rendition for the first time to close the show, Contactmusic reported.

Sam Smith's "Writing's On The Wall" replaced Radiohead's version in the 2015 Bond film.

The band initially offered the producers their 1997 track "Man Of War" from 'OK Computer' album, but that was also rejected.

Radiohead later released "Spectre" for free and told the fans, "Last year we were asked to write a theme tune for the Bond movie 'Spectre'... It didn't work out, but became something of our own, which we love very much."
