Watch: The new trailer for 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' is worth the wait!

Waiting for five months has been made worth the while by the new trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

The new trailer which released during half time of Monday Night Football, gives us the first look at Supreme Leader Snoke. His ominous words begin the narration for the trailer and as it progresses, we see him torture Rey!

The trailer is bound to evoke emotions and throw a lot of fan theories for a toss, for on one hand, we see Luke Skywalker be afraid of the strength of force Rey is capable of wielding and on the other, we see Kylo Ren extend a helping hand towards her.

After Han Solo in The Force Awakens, General Leia Organa's fate looks bleak in the new trailer. The Skywalker family cannot catch a break.

Do keep an eye out for a glimpse of a showdown between Finn and Captain Phasma, Poe Dameron declare an all out war, and the first roar of Porgs.

Starring Mark Hamill, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, and Andy Serkis among others, Star Wars: The Last Jedi is directed by Rian Johnson.

This will be late Carrie Fisher's last outing as General Leia Organa.

Before the trailer launch, Lucasfilm also released a new poster that includes BB-8's evil counterpart BB-9E.
