Ed Sheeran is one of the many artists that are walking human canvases with a lot of tattoos etched on their body.  And Saoirse Ronan just revealed the secret behind one of them.

Ed Sheeran released a video for his song 'Galway Girl' from his new album Divided and Saoirse has a cameo in it.

So while promoting her story Lady Bird on The Graham Norton Show, Ronan revealed that there is a tattoo on Sheeran's arm that has been done in her handwriting and it was deliberately misspelt.

The Brooklyn star revealed that the day they shot the video happened to be her birthday as well – April 12. So after the shoot, that day and subsequent concerts they ended up hanging out together in Dublin and on a drunken whim decided to have the title of the track (Galway Girl) tattooed on Sheeran's forearm.

But here's the funny part. Sheeran's tour manager came with the idea that Ronan misspells the word 'girl.'

So the final tattoo ended up being 'Galway Grill'
