Disney unveiled the first teaser of the live action version of The Lion King during Oscars on Monday morning (IST). When you hear the first notes of 'Circle of Life' introducing the audience to this new world, goosebumps will crowd your neck and nostalgia might set in.

The one-minute-long footage is live action recreation of the song that eventually leads to the announcement that heir to Mufasa's kingdom in the African savanna is here. Nants ingonyama bagithi baba (Here comes a lion, Father)! Simba is here!

Just to jog your memory, The Lion King is the story of a lion cub called Simba. Not everyone is delighted with the birth of this new heir. Scar, Mufasa's brother, plans a conspiracy against his king and kin. It leads to the battle of Pride Rock. Simba loses his father after the bloody drama and the little cub has to go into exile. Wandering about, he finds new friends along the way (cannot wait for new Hakuna Matata) and with their help, comes back to reclaim what was rightfully his.

The movie is directed by Jon Favreau who also helmed live-action The Jungle Book. The stellar star cast includes Donald Glover as Simba, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter as Nala, James Earl Jones as Mufasa, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa and Billy Eichner as Timon.

"It is a director's dream to assemble a talented team like this to bring this classic story to life," said Favreau.

Hans Zimmer has come onboard to score the film while Pharrell Williams helped coach actors who are not very strong in singing department (hmmm, Seth Rogen).

The Lion King is set to hit theatres on July 19, 2019
