Slumdog Millionaire helmer Danny Boyle has hinted at directing the upcoming James Bond movie.

The twenty-fifth James Bond movie has everyone wondering about all the aspects related to it. First, the speculations were about filling up Daniel Craig's shoes in the franchise after the actor said that he would rather slit his wrist than come back. Everyone from Idris Elba, Tom Hiddleston to James Norton were front-runners to become the new Bond. Women wanted Bond to be a female character with stars like Gillian Anderson, Priyanka Chopra throwing their hats in. Same was the case for the director's chair. From Christopher Nolan to Denis Villeneuve were the names making the rounds.

But eventually, Craig came back and made the happy announcement on The Late Night with Stephe Colbert. Reportedly,  producer Barbara Broccoli managed to persuade him with a big fat cheque of £100 million.

And on Wednesday at a special screening of his new show Trust, Danny Boyle hinted that he is the one directing the untitled 25th James Bond movie.

According to a report in Metro US, Boyle is working on the script with his Trainspotting writer John Hodge.

“We are working on a script right now. And it all depends on that really. I am working on a Richard Curtis script at the moment. We hope to start shooting that in 6 or 7 weeks. Then Bond would be right at the end of the year. But we are working on them both right now.

“We’ve got an idea, John Hodge, the screenwriter, and I have got this idea, and John is writing it at the moment. And it all depends on how it turns out. It would be foolish of me to give any of it away,” Boyle told the news site.

Bond 25 will be Craig's fifth outing for the franchise after Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall, and Spectre.

Tom Hanks has expressed interest in playing the villain to Craig's Bond and singer Ed Sheeran already has a theme ready. So Boyle can consider these options and spare fans of endless speculations.

The movie is scheduled to release on November 8, 2019.
