To delight the fans of fright on Wednesday, Warner Bros released the first trailer for the Conjuring universe movie The Nun.

Based on a story written by Gary Dauberman and James Wan, The Nun tells the origin story of the horror character The Conjuring fans love to be scared of.

The trailer begins with a note that asks you to watch the 1.32-minutes-long footage until the end. In this small time, the filmmakers manage to scare the bejesus out of you.

A priest and a novitiate on the threshold of her final vows are sent by the Vatican to investigate the suicide of a young Nun in a cloistered abbey in Romania. The duo confronts a malevolent force in the form of the same demonic nun that first terrorized audiences in Conjuring 2,  as the abbey becomes a horrific battleground between the living and the damned.

The Nun stars Oscar-nominated Demian Bichir as Father Burke, Taissa Farmiga as Sister Irene, and Jonas Bloquet as local villager Frenchie. The cast also includes Charlotte Hope as the abbey’s Sister Victoria, Ingrid Bisu as Sister Oana, and Bonnie Aarons, reprising her Conjuring 2 role as the title character.

Director-producer James Wan had added this character in the second Conjuring movie during the re-shoots. Wan had an idea to reconceive a demon. That idea flourished and helped the movie collect $320 million at the global box office.

The movie is directed by Corin Hardy, this fright-fest is scheduled to release on September 7, 2018.
