Priyanka Chopra and Mindy Kaling team up for Hollywood project based on big fat Indian wedding

A couple of months back, there were reports making the rounds about Priyanka Chopra Jonas teaming up with Mindy Kaling for an untitled Hollywood project. It was also reported that the talented actors had a meeting in the month of February, but both of them didn't open up about the speculations. It looks like, the reports have come out to be true and we will be witnessing Priyanka and Mindy together for the first time on the big screen.

Talking about the project, a report in Deadline stated that Universal will be backing the project which will be co-produced by Dan Goor of Brooklyn Nine-Nine fame. Rumour has it, Mindy might even don the director's hat for the film which will be shot both in India and the US. Priyanka took to her Instagram page and made the official announcement by writing, "Two women with a passion for telling good stories, just got the green light to THEIR story THEIR way. So proud of this incredible partnership with @mindykaling and #dangoor! We are about to show you what it means to be modern, global, and Indian. See you at the cinema!"

Deadline also wrote that the film will revolve around a big wedding in India and touted it as 'Crazy Rich Asians meets My Big Fat Greek Wedding'.
