Oprah Winfrey finally weighs in on Harvey Weinstein sexual abuse scandal

Oprah Winfrey finally talked about the ongoing Harvey Weinstein sexual abuse scandal.

On Friday, on her Facebook wall, she wrote, "I’ve been processing the accounts of Harvey Weinstein’s hideous behaviour and haven’t been able to find the words to articulate the magnitude of the situation."

She added, "Filmmaker James Schamus captured so much of what I’ve been feeling when he said:
'This is the story of one predator and his many victims, but it is also a story about an overwhelming systemic enabling, and until that story is fully told we will fall far short of stopping future depredations on a similar scale.'"

"Thanks to the brave voices we’ve heard this week, many more will now be emboldened to come forward EVERY time this happens. I believe a shift is coming," concluded the media mogul.

Since the scandal came to light last week, Winfrey joined the ranks of celebs like Meryl Streep, George Clooney, Jessica Chastain, Tom Hanks, Ryan Gosling, Emma Thompson, and others who condemned the disgraced producer's actions.

Last week, New York Times reported that eight women including actress Ashley Judd spoke against Weinstein.

Since then Gwyneth Paltrow, Angelina Jolie, Lea Seydoux, Cara Delevingne, Kate Beckinsale and others have come forward with their accounts of mistreatment by Weinstein.

Weinstein has been fired from The Weinstein Company. His wife, the Marchesa designer Georgina Chapman, has left him. It is being reported that New York Police Department and London Metropolitan Police are taking a fresh look at the previous complaints filed against the producer.
