Warner Bros unveiled the second trailer for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald on Saturday as a treat for the San Diego Comic-Con 2018 crowd and the fans all over the world.

The cold opening of the 3.16-minutes-long trailer reveals that before becoming the principal at Hogwarts, Professor Albus Dumbledore, played by Jude Law, used to teach Defence Against the Dark Arts at the school. It also revealed the one thing Newt Scamander is most afraid of.

Like Eddie Redmayne promised, the trailer is dark and focuses on how Grindelwald will wage a war against the obscurity the witches and wizards have to live in. Johnny Depp's (who delivered a creepy monologue before the trailer released by the panel at SDCC) Grindelwald begins the trailer with the narration.

"Magic grooms only in rare souls, still we must skulk in the shadows," narrates Grindelwald. "But the old ways serve us no longer," he continues as he addresses the gathering of his followers.

This is when Dumbledore calls on Newt Scamander, played by Eddie Redmayne, to help him stop Grindelwald.

The montage followed by this conversation takes us through the old days of the wizarding world where Grindelwald wants to rule and Newt & Co, which also includes his 'Fantastic Beasts,' try their best to stop him.

We hear Dumbledore say, "Muggles are not lesser, not disposable," when Grindelwald starts gaining power.

Amid this chaos, we also see the good side of Newt highlighted by none other than his ex-flame Leta LeStrange, played by Zoe Kravitz. "You are too good Newt. You never met a monster you couldn't love," she pierces Newt's heart.

Just like the light cold opening, the epilogue of the trailer also has heart because Jacob Kowalski is back in the magical world and relearning the quirks. Too adorable as always!

Official Synopsis -

At the end of the first film, the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) was captured by MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America), with the help of Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne).  But, making good on his threat, Grindelwald escaped custody and has set about gathering followers, most unsuspecting of his true agenda: to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over all non-magical beings.

In an effort to thwart Grindelwald’s plans, Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) enlists his former student Newt Scamander, who agrees to help, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead.  Lines are drawn as love and loyalty are tested, even among the truest friends and family, in an increasingly divided wizarding world.

Author JK Rowling wrote the screenplay for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. David Yates is directing the movie.
