Mindy Kaling becomes proud mother of a baby girl!

Comedy queen Mindy Kaling welcomed her first child, a baby girl named Katherine Kaling on December 15.

The Mindy Project star broke her silence about her pregnancy in August when her A Wrinkle In Time co-star revealed the news in an interview with People magazine.

The Office alum was happy that Winfrey announced the new to the world. On The Ellen DeGeneres Show, she said, "If anyone is going to announce big news about your private life, Oprah Winfrey is the person. You can’t complain that much about it. And you also can’t be like, 'Hey, Oprah, zip it’ — because she’s almost like a religious figure."

Notoriously private, Kaling chose not to reveal the details about the father of the baby.

Talking about being a mom, in an interview Kaling said, "I'd like to be the fun mom, I know I'm gonna be the dorky mom. So if I can be kind of fun too, I think that would be nice."

Jokingly, Kaling also revealed that she will be using this opportunity to criticise the parenting styles of other people. "As you know, it's so easy to criticise parenting until you're a parent, so one of the nice things about becoming a parent is that I'll be able to openly criticise other parenting, because I'll have a child."

The new mom has finished The Mindy Project. She is writing another show called Champions. Trailer for her Ocean's 8 movie released on Monday. And she will be seen alongside Oprah Winfrey and Reese Witherspoon in Ava DuVarney's A Wrinkle in Time.
