A new Charlie's Angels reboot has found their stars in Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott and Ella Balinska, reports Variety.

Elizabeth Banks of Pitch Perfect franchise will direct the film. She is also co-producing the movie with her producing partner Max Handelman under their Brownstone Productions banner.

Twilight star Kristen Stewart's latest project Lizzie received a lukewarm response which was contrasting to her success with Personal Shopper. Power Rangers star Naomi Scott is playing Jasmine in Disney's live-action version of Aladdin alongside Will Smith as Genie. Ella Balinska, a British actress, is well known for her role in Midsomer Murders.

The first run of Charlie's Angels was the TV series on ABC from 1976-1981. The second term was a successful movie franchise with Cameron Diaz, Lucy Liu, and Drew Barrymore playing the angels for mysterious Charles Townsend. The third version is continuing after this. The next generation of angels now work for bigger, global Townsend Agency and now provide security, intelligence services with highly-trained teams worldwide.

"Charlie's Angels, for me, is one of the original brands to celebrate the empowered woman since its debut in the ’70s. This film honours the legacy of Charles Townsend and his agency while introducing a new era of modern and global Angels. I couldn’t be more excited to work with Kristen, Naomi and Ella to bring this chapter to fans around the world," Banks told the magazine.

The movie is scheduled to release on September 27, 2019.
