Is Tom Cruise bidding goodbye to Scientology?

Tom Cruise is gearing up to promote Mission Impossible: Fallout with the trailer for the movie set to drop during Super Bowl LII on Monday morning (IST). But before that happens, a rumour about his departure from Scientology surfaced.

According to Star Magazine, the actor wants to cut ties with the religion to reunite with his estranged daughter Suri Cruise. Suri is Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' 11-year-old daughter.

Quoting a source, the magazine report says, "If he wants her back, he’ll have to walk away from the church, which has been a huge part of his life, to say the least. Leaving Scientology would be the toughest decision he’ll ever have to make."

The story further continues saying the Top Gun actor is nervous about leaving the Scientology church out of fear that they will come guns blazing for him. "If Scientology declared open season on Tom, they could bury him, since they’ve probably got all sorts of dirt on him from his audit sessions,” says the alleged source.

The same source told the magazine that  Cruise may try to broker a deal with the church where he gets to leave if he promises to never talk against Scientology. "That way, both sides win," said the source.

Cruise has been committed to Scientology for more than 30 years now. He credits his success to that religion and recently described it as a 'beautiful religion.'

Gossip site Gossip Cop debunks the Star Magazine report saying that their exclusive source revealed that The Mummy star had no intentions of quitting the church.

If Cruise quits Scientology, that will be the biggest news of that day. For now, Cruise fans should sit back and wait for Mission Impossible: Fallout trailer.
