Henry Cavill is missing his old moustache which he had grown for his upcoming film Mission: Impossible - Fallout.

The moustache, he sported for his character August Walker in the film, had generated quite a buzz on social media but also caused problems during the Justice League reshoots.

After Paramount insisted on the moustache, Warner Bros was forced to digitally remove the facial hair in the post-production stage of the superhero ensemble saga, which left an awkward CGI shadow on the actor's face.

Cavill, 34, admitted he misses the much-talked-about moustache and said he enjoyed the media attention it received.

"If I was ever going to grow a moustache, it would have to be a world-changing moustache, and I'm glad it was. I've put up with that thing for a year, I've learned to love it and now I miss it," Cavill told Entertainment Weekly.

"I'm glad it got so much in the way of media attention and everything because if I ever grow a moustache again, I can look back and know that I can find so much in the way of videos and memes and Instagram posts, whatever it may be just to remind me of what it was like," he added.

"And hopefully one day I can show my grandkids," he joked.
