Oprah Winfrey is considered one of the iconic orators of our time. Naturally, when it was announced that she will be honoured with Cecil B DeMille Award by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association during 75th Golden Globe Awards, people expected nothing but best.

And Oprah delivered one of the most powerful speeches commenting on the sexual harassment storm in Hollywood, women empowerment, and the 'Time's Up' initiative.

"Each of us in this room are celebrated because of the stories we tell, and this year we became the story. But it's not just a story affecting the entertainment industry ... I want to express gratitude to all the women who have endured years of abuse and assault because they, like my mother, had children to feed and bills to pay and dreams to pursue," she said during her acceptance speech.

But while talking about her speech backstage, Oprah revealed that she was very nervous on stage.

"I was very nervous. You look at the room and there is everybody you have always admired! But I thought a lot about what I wanted to say, how I wanted to use this moment, and actually be thankful to the people who supported me over the years but also to use it as a moment to say that better days are ahead, particularly for women," she said.

Oprah is the first African-American woman to receive the award. When she was asked how she felt about that, she said, "I think that's pretty damn cool too!"
