Principal photography began for the second instalment of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Warner Bros released major plot details from the Wizarding World before the Harry Potter era began.

Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, and Dan Fogler have returned to the sets to reprise their roles as Newt Scamander,  Tina Goldstein, Queenie Goldstein and the only No-Maj among the wizard squad, Jacob Kowalski, respectively.

Johnny Depp, who was revealed as Gellert Grindelwald at the end of the first movie, is also returning to the franchise. So is Ezra Miller who played the mysterious boy Credence.

The second instalment will see the action move from New York to London (closer to Hogwarts) and then to Paris.

Another plot detail reveals that the story written by JK Rowling opens in 1927, a few months after Newt helped to unveil and capture the infamous Dark Wizard Grindelwald. However, as he promised he would, Grindelwald has made a dramatic escape and has been gathering more followers to his cause—elevating wizards above all non-magical beings.

The only one who might be able to stop him is the wizard he once called his dearest friend, Albus Dumbledore. Oscar nominee Jude Law has been cast as young Dumbledore, years before he became the Headmaster of Hogwarts.

Dumbledore will need help from the wizard who had thwarted Grindelwald once before, his former student Newt Scamander. The adventure reunites Newt with Tina, Queenie and Jacob, but his mission will also test their loyalties as they face new perils in an increasingly dangerous and divided wizarding world.

Apart from Law, Zoe Kravitz and Callum Turner have been cast to play Leta Lestrange and Newt's brother Theseus Scamander, respectively.

The second part of the five film series of Fantastic Beasts is being directed by David Yates and is slated to release on November 16, 2018.
