Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn revealed that there will be no resurrection of Yondu, the character played by Michael Rooker, when the franchise returns for the third instalment in 2020.

To jog the reader's memory, Yondu dies in the end of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 while saving Peter Quill/Star-Lord in the aftermath of Ego's catastrophe.

During one of his regular Twitter Q&A, Gunn said, "He will never be brought back to life as long as I’m around. His passing needs to mean something."

But this is not the only detail about Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 was discussed during this Q&A. Commenting on the effect of Disney Fox deal, Gunn said that the deal will have no effect on the story of GotG 3.

This shuts down the rumours about possible story arc involving the Black Vortex series of Marvel Comics which involves both, The Guardians – a Disney property and X-Men – a 20th Century Fox property.

He also revealed that he is almost done with the soundtrack for Vol 3.

Gunn also took a question from Logan director James Mangold

Then jumped the Star-Lord, Chris Pratt himself to ask him questions about the script of the movie.

At first, Gunn didn't understand the question so he gave a simple answer. But when Pratt divulged into details, the director issued a warning!

James Gunn is one of the executive producers of Avengers 3 and 4. He is also gearing up to direct Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3.
